Learning about Living foods- New Client

Today was a good day! I had a session with a new client, an old friend from high school. He is going to do 30 days of raw foods. Today we talked about what to eat and when to eat. He is wanting to get rid of inflammation and cataracts. He had a lot of redness in his skin, which is a sign of inflammation. Raw foods are perfect for this! All disease is caused by build up of dead foods in the body caused by cooking. When you eat raw, the build up of these dead proteins slowly go away and your body can start rebuilding. I also told him to eat pineapple and papaya every day as these fruits speed up the removal of excess dead proteins, bacteria build up and mucus. Some of the best fruits to eat!

Pineapple

Pawpaw (Papaya)

In 30 days I will have a new testimonial to post. Very exciting. I love hearing how peoples lives change by just starting a new way of living. :)

Raw Recipe Book and Why eat Raw?

Last night I put together a lot of new recipes for my recipe book in the making. I have decided that I want to make my book a soup/salad (fruit)/dessert book since these are the least labor intensive, quick and easy to make with fruit and nuts. Since my book won't contain any grains or other inappropriate non-human foods, most of the recipes will be fairly easy and only take minutes to prepare. When eating raw, it is a must to have plenty of food around ready to eat since when you eat unprocessed appropriate foods, they digest quickly and you have to eat much more often, like 7-10 times a day. That is my goal in this book, to have recipes that are delicious yet easy and fast to make. Very important when you are trying to stay raw! :)

Why eat Raw?

This is the question that people ask the most. I can think of so many reasons why! The main reason, I believe, it is natures way and the best not only for our bodies but the planet as well. Other reasons are feeling so good that you swear you are a teenager again, your skin just glows like you have just had a spa treatment all over, you have tons of energy and need less sleep and the list goes on and on! When I first decided to start this blog, I mulled over how I wanted to relate this information to my blog reading friends. I decided to just go with the facts....

A lot of people think it's all about enzymes. It is actually much more complicated than that. Or is it? :) First of all, when you heat food above 115, it chemically alters your food. The chemicals it creates are extremely toxic and poison your body. The main problem is that all foods eaten in today's world, with the exception of raw fruits and vegetables, have been heated in one way or another. That is a pretty big problem if you are trying to stay healthy and disease free. In fact (3.5 oz.) of prepared meat for example contain as much AalphaC as smoke of 812 cigarettes. And 100 grams of prepared meat contain as much of even-more-mutagenic MeAalphaC as the smoke of 1,050 cigarettes !!! This should be enough reason for anyone to want to eat raw!

We all have our reasons for wanting to live a healthy lifestyle, mine being I want to look and feel as young as possible and not have to depend on medical care as I age. Since I have went raw, I haven't had the annual sicknesses that I used to get. Every year I would come down with either bronchitis, tonsillitis or a severe cold. When I first went raw, I did have some detox that I went through. Three months into raw, I came down with tonsillitis. I immediately went strictly on raw orange and carrot juice. What would normally last one to two weeks in bed, a trip to the doctor and antibiotics, was gone in 24 hours!! That is when I became a true believer to all I had read and learned while becoming raw. In my next post I will talk more about the science of raw.

Getting Started- Discussing Raw Food Lifestyle

I have to say that this is all new to me, writing a blog for other people to read. It's a little exciting and scary at the same time! You have to start somewhere though, right?

A little about me: I live in Oklahoma and I have been researching and self-teaching my self about human nutrition for 5 years now. In the beginning of this year I also became a certified Family Herbal Nutritionist. Recently, in the last year, I was searching inside for what I really wanted to do with my life. I know we all get there at one point, right? I've always heard people do best when they do what they love. Well, I love helping people become healthy and helping guide them in the right direction to reach their goals of healing, eating right or just sharing knowledge to maybe help them find their own way. So I decided to start teaching some classes on living raw foods, start this blog and see where it takes me. I have had way too many people pointing me in this direction so I think it's time I listened and started doing what I feel I am meant to do because it's starting to become obvious that this is it! I truly believe that God has his hand in this as it is showing more everyday. When I was a little girl, I told my mother that I wanted to be a doctor, but a doctor that didn't have to see blood! Little did I know wanting to be a "doctor" was just a way of me knowing I wanted to help heal people of disease which is 100% possible through diet given the extent of the disease. With no blood involved! :)

On this blog, I am wanting to touch on some subjects such as what are we REALLY supposed to eat? Is all vegetation edible? Should you eat it just because it's raw? Hopefully everyone who reads or joins this blog will have something to learn or at least something to think about! I have included some of my favorite links as well. Enjoy and let me know what you think. All comments and questions welcome!
